Proactive Antimicrobial Stewardship

Antimicrobial resistance (AMR) is truly a global problem that requires urgent action from policymakers and the health community to avoid preventable deaths. The Absolute Genomics ABx Advantage gene panel is designed to detect major classes of antibiotic resistance. This panel can identify the presence of specific resistance genes that are involved in drug inhibition. The Absolute Genomics ABx Advantage gene panel has 11 antibiotic resistance genes belonging to amino glycoside, β-lactam, fluoroquinolone, macrolide, tetracycline, vancomycin, and multi-drug resistance classifications. The multiplex PCR test takes less than 3 hours to complete. After, the data is used for providing antibiotic resistance stewardship. The OneChoice report powered by Arkstone Medical Solutions for the ABx Advantage gene panel converts PCR data into simple interpretations for physicians to help them make better treatment choices. This patent-pending technology is a combination of software, Artificial intelligence, and human expertise.

About Us

Absolute Genomics is a molecular, diagnostic testing laboratory specializing in Polymerase Chain Reaction (PCR) and Next Generation Sequencing (NGS) testing. Our state-of-the-art laboratory in based in Mayfield, Pennsylvania. Absolute Genomics services physicians throughout the United States.

 Our laboratory utilizes a highly efficient, automated lab process with a paperless, web-based system that provides physicians with a 24-48 hour turnaround for most tests provided.

Our pathologist, Dr. Marguerite Host, is involved in all aspects of laboratory operations and serves as an internal subject matter expert, applying medical knowledge to advise decision-makers in support of the Absolute genomics mission to transform patient care. She is responsible for review and approval of documentation and reports, supporting clinical testing strategies, and new assay development and validation. Dr. Host is also involved in strategic research initiatives to expand new testing capabilities. She supports quality assurance, compliance and regulatory activities.
