Nail InSITE

State of the Art Nail Pathogen Detection

The Absolute Genomics Nail InSITE panel will rapidly multiply millions of copies of DNA from a pathogen to determine what bacteria or fungus in in the specimen. The specimens are obtained by simply trimming small pieces of a nail. PCR testing can produce accurate results in hours while traditional culturing could take days to weeks. Based on the PCR test, the appropriate medication is recommended for early treatment with better outcomes

Clinical Need :

  • Every year, on average there are ~1 billion cases of onychomycosis
  • Estimates show that onychomycosis is the main cause of ~5% of nail deformities
  • On a regular basis, ~14-18% of adults are effected annually by nail pathogens
  • Recent studies show that nail and wound infections are on the rise
  • Immunocompromised and elderly people are more at risk
  • The PCR test helps in distinguishing psoriasis, melanoma, and fungal infections

~1 billion cases of onychomycosis annually

Fungal infections are reported to cause 23% of foot disease and 50% of nail conditions in people by dermatologists

ABx Advantage

The Absolute Genomics ABx Advantage gene panel is designed to detect major classes of antibiotic resistance. This panel can identify the presence of specific resistance genes that are involved in drug inhibition. The Absolute Genomics ABx Advantage gene panel has 12 antibiotic resistance genes belonging to amino glycosidea β-lactama fluoroquinolonea macrolidea tetracyclinea vancomycina and multi-drug resistance classifications. The data is used for providing antibiotic resistance stewardship via Arkstone Medical Solutions. The OneChoice report powered by Arkstone Medical Solutions for the ABx Advantage gene panel converts PCR data into simple interpretations for physicians to help them make better treatment decisions. This patent-pending technology is a combination of softwarea artificial intelligencea and human expertise.

  • The OneChoice report contains a unique ArkScore to help prescribers make informed decisions.
  • The One-Choice decision engine combines machine-learning artificial intelligence with decades of deep infectious disease expertise to guide physicians to a singular treatment regimen that targets the most relevant infectiona with the lowest risk to the patient.
  • ArkScore describes the level of antimicrobial resistance expressed in organisms.
  • ArkScore provides the most effective treatment with the least risk of adverse events resulting in the reduction of unnecessary use of broad-spectrum antibiotics
